Up for auction is a FAB-ULOUS RARE original 3rd state PROFESSIONALLY PEELED mono edition of one of the most sought- after rock collectables of all-time:
The Beatles' controversial 1966 American album:
YESTERDAY AND TODAY
(Capitol Records T - 2556 MONO - black / colorband label)
This is a West Coast (Los Angeles) pressing and bears RIAA #6 on the rear cover.
Tracks include:

This is a "3rd state" pressing. The white "trunk photo" album slick was professionally peeled by Jim Hansen of Blue Jay Way Galleries, Texas, revealing the original- and highly controversial - "butcher photo" underneath.
Hansen is considered worldwide by collectors and critics to be one of the top "experts" in peeling butcher covers.
This original mono edition boasts a completely intact butcher photo with vibrant colors- NO TOUCH-UP IS PRESENT!** The signature LA "glue circles" from the trunk paste-over are at a stunning minimum.
***The front cover photo has slight camera flash "glare" near the bottom of the cover. There is NO glue or residue present on the actual cover.
The spine (once split) has been professionally repaired with the title and matrix number legible.
The back cover print is solid with some light aging and typical shelfwear on the otherwise WHITE background.
In addition, the original gold "CAPITOL '66" inner sleeve is also included along with a copy of the 1966 recall letter from Capitol records, explaining the substitute "trunk" cover.
Vinyl is "NM" Beautiful shine free of nicks or scratches. Vinyl has been play-tested - Warm, beautiful mono sound. No distortion and minimal surface noise! This one's a keeper!
On 7/15/10, renowned Beatles collector and author PERRY COX estimated the current market / collector's value of this butcher cover at $2,750.
