RARE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO BLACK BANNER TOP 2ND STATE V6-5008 STEREO VTG The extra rarity of this album is due to the Emerson "lawsuit" sticker, plus the misprinted timing at I'll Be Your Mirror'' (2:01 instead of 2:10) on the label
As an art student in New York City, I purchased this album "brand new" in the 60's purely for the cover art, and have never played it. This is an extremely rare, original East Coast pressing of the Velvet Underground's debut album and is a truly amazing collectible artifact! This is the very first album by the Velvet Underground, featuring Nico on vocals, and includes the famous banana cover art by Andy Warhol.
This classic and influential album was very much ahead of its time. It's a must have for any fan of pop and rock, garage, psychedelic, punk, industrial, alternative, and experimental music in general. Condition: The record itself visually appears to be in very good condition, has not been tested...however, I guarantee it! The original Verve records inner sleeve is in very good condition.The original banana sticker is fully intact, as well as the torso covered "lawsuit" sticker on the backside of the sleeve. The sleeve shows the kind of wear expected for an album of it's age, that has been stored. The cover is in good condition for it's age, with some discoloring, corner and edge wear issues. The Banana Sticker is all there...has some ripple issues on the top third, where it was pulled back a bit, but then reattached. Record has never been played. but should play beautifully...has only very minor surface scratches. Check my feedback and buy with confidence, I have 100% customer satisfaction!
