Description

Here is Van Dyke Parks recording under the pseudonym George Washington Brown: "Donovan's Colours" b/w "Donovan's Colours" (Warner Brothers 7026). Produced by Lenny Waronker. Song written by Donovan Leitch.

After leaving the "SMiLE" project, on which he collaborated with Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks released his first LP, "Song Cycle" (WB 1727), released in 1968. The A-side version of "Donovan's Colours" appears on the LP. But the B-side is an unusual mix not included on the LP: an extended mix which features the only vocals on the song: "Blue's the color," which Van sings with heavy reverb and echo.

This is a white-label DJ copy in EX+ condition, still in its original factory sleeve.
