This is a RARE Signed Autographed "Barbara" 1963 Barbra Streisand Album Demo Record. See following story.
Selling for a friend whose last name is Wieboldt and who’s family was the founders of the Wieboldt Stores in Chicago back in the day. The friend’s stepmother’s ex-husband was named “Chuck” and worked at Mister Kelly’s nightclub as a concierge. Also know as “Charles”. In June of 1963 Barbra Streisand was just getting started and had a 2-week debut at Mr. Kelly’s on Rush St in Chicago. During that time Barbra gave away demo records and signed them in person for people. Chuck got the demo record autographed but Barbra took it back! Why? Because she signed it “Barbara” which was her original first name and had just recently changed it to “Barbra”. She even went so far to cross out the one “a” but in the end tossed it in the trash and gave Chuck a new signed demo record. Chuck then dug out of the trash the mis-signed album and gave it to ex-wife who had just become the wife to my friend’s dad and was now the new stepmother. The friend was so fond of Barbra that it was eventually given to her.
The album cover is does have some wear from all the attention over the years. The record does have some scuffs / scratches but the most import in the cover with the errored autograph and the story behind it.
