Description


This is a cool copy of a single by The Revels: "Church Key" b/w "Vesuvius" (Impact 1-IM). Released in 1960. A side, featuring Barbara Atkins (with menacingly sexy giggle), is written by Don Darnold. The B side is written by Don Hafner. The Revels hailed form San Luis Obispo, if I'm not mistaken. They were a local favorite but went on to national fame many years later when Quentin Tarantino featured their version of the killer instrumental "Comanche" on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack.


This is a red colored wax copy. Most copies are black vinyl, and this is the only single by The Revels issued in red wax on this label. Other singles, such as "Tequila," were issued in yellow vinyl. There are copies of "Soft Top" in both yellow and red wax, but that record was issued on the Westco label.


The record is in G+/VG- condition. Labels have some wear and discoloration. But no stickers and no writing. The vinyl itself has lost some shine and has many scuffs. But it plays loud and strong through noise.
