Matrix denotes original Memphis press : U-143-2  72 (denotes plate number) non memphis presses had a triangle after the matrix

There is a crack extending nearly to the end of the a side( i'm left, you're right side), and some associated chipping on the grooves on that side which means what while the record will play fine with a heavy associated pop with the crack, it will not play beyond the chipping of the grooves.

The B side ( let's play house ) obviously has still got the crack which extends thruought the track but the track plays right through without any jumps, but will give an audible pop over the crack.

The Run in grooves have some chipping before the track starts at the and around the crack but IT IS PLAYABLE !!

I have played this disc just once on both sides on an old His Master's Voice Gramophone player with a new needle, and they sounded FANTASTIC !!

Shivers down my Spine time !!

I may regret selling this awesome piece of history but Needs Must.

I will not play it again for fear of doing more damage to the disc with the weight of the needle unit, and it will probably not play on a new system with a gramophone type stylus as the weight of the needle has to be quite high to overcome the crack.

I think this perhaps has to be played once, recorded and then mounted as a display piece, as it is probably too delicate to play it regularly which is a Damn shame cause it does sound FANTASTIC as if the 20 year old Elvis is in the room with you !! 

Saying that though, I believe that there is some chance of this being repaired by possibly glueing the crack and there may be somebody out there that is able to do this, i would hope there is a slight chance cause this record needs playing as it does sound FANTASTIC !

Both labels have a little wear around the spindle hole but have not faded and are rated as Ex

Obviously this disc will be better served if i do not have to post it and i will if needs must post it but with the highest level of padding and protection and postal insurance appropriate to its final value as i can, BUT i would prefer if it is picked up and will be willing to meet somebody halfway ( to a maximum of 30 miles from solihull ) in order to hand it over safely and not leave this treasure in the innocent but ignorant incapable hands of the posties !

I will charge just £5 for you to meet me halfway (price of diesel)

but will despatch it in the post for £10 which should be appropriately insured and packaged well with good solid bomb proof packaging

My Records are graded according to the following grading system :

• MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
• EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
• VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
• GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
