Description

RARE SPIKE JONES V-DISC RECORDING SESSION DISCS RECORDED BY NBC ORTHACOUSTIC TRANSCRIPITONS.  7 SONGS AND TWO INTRO ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THESE TWO 16 INCH, BLACK LACQUER ACETATE 33 1/3 RPM DISCS.  THESE DISCS WERE RECORDED BY THE NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.  VERY RARE!   

Discs are dated November 12, 1943

Songs by Spike Jones include "You Can't Say No To A Soldier", "Shoo Shoo Baby", "As Time Goes By" (breakdown & Spike Jones can be overheard saying something about the side effects), "As Time Goes By", "That Old Blagic", "Hotcha Cornya", "Down In Jungle Town".   There are also two announcements for V-Discs by Spike Jones.   

There are a total of three sides with recording and one blank side.  The above material is on sides 1 & 3.  Another side is marked #2 and includes a very short bad start of the song "You Can't Say No To A Soldier".  There is a blank label inside the sleeve and I suspect it was meant for this side

The labels indicate these are glass discs, however they are aluminum based, not glass

Discs are in Excellent or better Condition with Excellent or better sound, Beautiful Discs! 

THESE ARE BY FAR THE MOST RARE SPIKE JONES TRANSCRIPTIONS I HAVE EVERY COME ACROSS!!!

Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables.   For $10 I can include a CD transfer of both discs for the buyer
