The Story of This Record:

Russ Regan was a well known record man in the 50's & 60's.  He actually gave The Beach Boys their name when, at Candix Records(label their first single was pressed on), HE changed THEIR name to The Beach Boys from The Pendletones, which they called themselves because of the striped sports shirts they wore.  They only found out their name had been changed when they read the label on their first record.  

In the 1970's Regan was running 20th Century Records, which I personally promoted.  He was responsible for bringing Barry White to the label.  Throughout his career he ran several major record companies and worked with some of the biggest superstars of all-time.

He had a brainstorm that somehow it was a great and genius idea to juxtapose Beatles music to film footage from World War II, which would include actual war footage, footage from 20th Century Fox's library of great war movies, clips from U.S. War Bonds tours by Hollywood stars such as Clarke Gable and others, and from other sources.  He says he actually dreamed many of the scenes from the movie, and woke up and wrote them down.

The film would probably be considered an Art Film, had it been released on a small independent label.  20th Century Fox apparently did not believe in the film, and yanked it from release just 2 weeks after it premiered.

Obviously the film did not find its audience, nor fare well with most critics.  However, THE MUSIC from the film is  sensational.  Every song is a Beatles song, and each has been lovingly produced and performed by some of the biggest artists in the music business, and of course they're all Beatles fans.

This is a vinyl double album LP, and plays on a record turntable.

*IT IS STILL SEALED - THERE IS A VERY SMALL OPENING IN THE PLASTIC WRAP (ABOUT 2 INCHES) NEAR ONE OF THE CORNERS.  THERE IS VERY VERY FAINT WEAR UNDER THAT OPENING.
