RARE Original UK VELVET UNDERGROUND AND NICO vinyl stereo SVLP9184 1ST PRESSING
The Velvet Underground, The Velvet Underground & Nico , Verve, UK, stereo, 1967, cat no: SVLP 9184. This is a rare original uk copy of The Velvet Underground’s classic album, The Velvet Underground & Nico. The vinyl has some light surface marks but no scratches or jumps and is in very good condition. The original flip back sleeve has some ringwear at the top but is otherwise in very good condition (see photo).

Original UK stereo pressing.
The first UK release was in a single sleeve with the back cover of the US edition on the front and some of the text from the inside on the back. Back cover has the credits and reviews from the US gatefold and reads on top right "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups" on top right. At the bottom: "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent Pending".

According to the Record Collector Price Guide and M.C. Kostek's Velvet Underground Handbook, the 1967 original UK issue was in a single sleeve with catalogue number Verve SVLP 9184 (stereo) and the 1971 gatefold is a reissue.
