We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

VERY hard to find 1968 FIRST PRESS white & yellow Atco label, this is the original Canadian press with thick hard cover from 40 years ago...the back cover is both in English & French language...very hard to find without cover wear = the 40 year old 1st pressing front cover nearly always found with shelf wear -- this copy top preserved -- also has notation on front cover as follows: "This stereo album may be played on mono equipment, for full sound reproduction use a sterephonic needle" ...1968.
Iron Butterfly was the American answer to the heavy riff-rock of British groups like Cream and Led Zeppelin, with a touch of Vanilla Fudge's organ-led theatricality and the Doors' mysterioso image. They will forevermore be known for the trippy 17-minute title track of this, their second album.
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (a poke at singer/organist Doug Ingle's gruff, John Kay-like delivery of "In the Garden of Eden") is built around one of the most memorable riffs of the '60s. It's filled out by long solos from all concerned, especially from guitarist Erik Brann, whose lengthy psyched-out echo-plex knife scraping solos provided the template for Big Rock GUITAR Solos for decades to come. The rest of the tunes reveal that Iron Butterfly did indeed possess melodic sensibilites to leaven the heaviness; "Flowers and Beads" in particular is simultaneously a romantic '60s pop-rock ballad and a subtle but surprising swipe at flower power culture. "Are You Happy" a hard psych groover and concert fave of the Butterfly.
