MINTY CLEAN, sought after, 47 years ago final collection copy

Original  (100%) 1970 first pressing ...the much harder to find USA printing with THICK colorful cover...it's the second album by the adventurous progressive Hammond organ driven trio EGG derived from the ashes of the mighty ARZACHEL minus Steve Hillage and very soon (year or two later) to be "KHAN" with Steve Hillage ...

Includes the scarce original printed inner sleeve

Basically a highly creative British keyboard trio made three albums with unique styles abounding ...POLITE FORCE compares more to their 1969 debut ("Egg") ... here in delightfully collection ready clean condition (see details below song titles)

"The Polite Force" was EGG’s second album and represents one of the pinnacle and most influential Canterbury progressive albums. "The Polite Force" is stylistically similar to the 1969 - 70 era early work of SOFT MACHINE featuring Dave Stewart's surging keyboard work with a solid supporting duo of Hugo Martin Montgomery Campbell (bass, vocals, keys) and Clive Brooks (drums). Songs vary in composition aspect and range from very complex - to pure experimental - maintaining a high degree of originality and professionalism.

EGG score with their mixture of ARZACHEL / SOFT MACHINE influenced instrumental extensions, highly developed Stravinsky influenced compositions, impeccable performances and their careful attention to timbre and organ dynamics of Dave Stewart. The Polite Force dispenses with the rearrangement of classical themes that was a focus of the band's debut album, and instead is comprised of four original pieces. The music doesn't sound drastically different from Egg's first album, but there is less of an emphasis on vocals and the compositions are even more complex and dissonant. As stated above, the music sometimes bears a resemblance to what Soft Machine was doing in late 1969 and early 1970, if you were to eliminate Soft Machine's jazzier elements and drive the lane of a pure progressive direction coupled with psychy jamming passages....
