RARE ORGINAL LED ZEPPELIN PHYSICAL GRAFFITI GENUINE EARLY 1st PRESSING

MACHINE STAMPED A1/B4/C1/D1 MATRIX No's NEAR MINT

Hi and a BIG thank you for your time to view my items.

I have once again after a very long break to list hopefully a varied selection of items from a very large collection that I have been collecting over many years. .

Now I’m not here to have an open debate or argument with anyone in the Ebay community, whether they be a professional or amateur seller or collector but over my collecting years there is always an element of surface or background noise/sound with audio reproduction on vinyl reproduction, I have purchased sealed audiophile heavyweight pressings that have suffered from some surface noise and in the very odd case were totally unplayable. I have purchased sealed records straight from the factory and these have suffered some degree of surface noise, it’s inherent in the pressing of vinyl and the way it is produced.
All used vinyl has at least light marks and surface scratches which are always visible when viewed under a bright light, my advice would be to stick to CD if you are after total blackout silence. Myself I believe surface noise adds to an emotional experience of reality which can not be matched by CD only my opinion

All the records (LP’s and 7 inch singles) that I intend to put onto Ebay for sale are 2nd hand either my own or have been given to me and have in many cases been played, some more than others. But I will always highlight this fact when grading, if the vinyl has surface marks or other defects these will be pointed out also.

I’m very sorry but I don’t always have time to play grade every single item, and the majority of my grading is done by purely visual means, so please view my feedback and you will see that I try to give the best account on the condition of any item I put up for auction.

This is my hobby and not my profession.

I will though play LP’s, and singles that are very collectable to get a better insight to the playing condition of the item being sold for auction.

I will never play/sound grade coloured vinyl or picture discs, they were made as limited edition collector's items only and the vinyl used to do this was of a lower quality. They will more likely have crackle and pop with background noise. They were made only to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, rather than have audiophile sound quality.
Now I accept that the above may differ from any winning bidders perception of what I have graded. I cannot always vouch for whether every record plays all the way through in total black silence with no noise. If you have any doubts then please email me or again just view my feedback.

LED ZEPPELIN: Physical Graffiti Genuine Original 1975 UK first issue 15-track double LP. One of the bands most diverse and challenging records, featuring classics like Kashmir and lesser played gems such as The Wanton Song. Housed in a great die-cut picture sleeve with thick card inners and card tracklisting insert. SSK89400

FIRST ISSUE CRITERIA:

THE RECORDS HAVE THE FIRST ISSUE SWAN SONG LABELS (with "Made in UK' text and no WB log)
MATRIX NUMBERS: SSK 89400 A1 / SSK 89400 B4 / SSK 89400 C1 / SSK 89400 D1
AND ARE HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL BOX SLEEVE
COMPLETE WITH THE TWO PICTURE INNER SLEEVES
AND GATEFOLD ‘SLIP’ INSERT.

Box Cover: The outer cover is of a top loading ‘box’ construction of thick ridged card with the following text printed on the back, top centre:
SWAN SONG / 484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10
Cullderstead Ltd., trading as Swan Song
A Swan Song/Atlantic recording distributed by WEA Records Ltd., P & C 1975
The group name, record title and catalogue number run down the left hand side spine, viewed from the front, these are printed in RED.
Inner Slip Cover: The gatefold ‘slip’ insert credits “Gothic Print Finishers Ltd., London SE9 2EQ” as the printers, along with the Swan Song SSK 89400 catalogue number and the address “SWAN SONG, 484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10”
Inner Sleeves: The Inner sleeves are printed on thick card with a natural untreated grey finish to the inside surfaces.

They have SSK 89400/A and SSK 89400/B respectively on the back (bottom right corner) of each of the inners. Later issues were thinner card with a smooth finish to the inside.

Labels: The labels are the easiest identifying factors for an original UK 1st issue as they should be clearly marked “Made in UK” but most importantly have NO small circular WB (Warner Brothers) Logo at the end of the bottom rim text. The WB logo was introduced onto the label in mid 1975 just a few months after the release, so any label with the WB logo is not from the very first batch of pressings

LABELS: MINT/MINT/MINT/MINT
The matt and grooved labels are clean and unmarked.
VINYLS Visual: NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT
All four sides of this double vinyl LP retains their original deep glossy sheen.
Side One. Minor superficial hairlines which do not effect play in anyway.
Side Two. Minor superficial hairlines which do not effect play in anyway.
Side Three. Minor superficial hairlines which do not effect play in anyway.
Side Four. Minor superficial hairlines which do not effect play in anyway.
None of these superficial marks have any significant impact on the playing of this LP.
VINYLS Audio play: NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT
The LP was played on my Elite Rock, Ittok tone arm and Blue Point special EVO III front end with Lavardin amplification and through Impulse H6 speakers. The sound was clear, with no distortion, sound stage was deep, solid and wide and very sharp. The LP played with very hardly any surface noise on all tracks. Very light superficial surface noise was evident in between tracks but still not distracting from the playing of this LP in it's entirety. No loud ticks or pops were heard throughout the whole playing of this LP. The sound was fantastic for a 41 year old LP and the volume was cranked up.
OUTER SLEEVE: VERY STRONG EXCELLENT CONDITION
The box cover is in solid excellent condition with no damage to the die-cut 'windows' it does display general storage wear to the edges - the red spine text is still clear and strong.
THE BACK SLEEVE: VERY STRONG EXCELLENT CONDITION
As the front the die cut windows show no damage and are crisp. Otherwise it is free from any writing or other damage.
INNER SLEEVES: NEAR MINT
Both inners are clean Crisp and unmarked - no seam splits.
INNER SLIP: EXCELLENT++
The gatefold inner slip has some feathering to the top edge but remains free from any damage. Clean and unmarked superb.
