Description
The John Chowning Collegiates (Featuring Lem Winchester, Vibraharp), a very rare deep groove pressing from 1958. The vinyl is in VG+/VG condition, light marks and scuffs, still very nice. The cover is in VG+ condition. Original dark blue tape on all seams, that is the way cover was originally made.

Quote from John Chowning, "The “album” — we assembled the sleeves by hand on a counter in the college bookstore — sold virtually nowhere but the bookstore. But John’s agent father did send one as audition material to Norman Granz, organizer of the Newport Jazz Festival. We could only smile at his enterprise. He thought more of us than we thought he should."
Many experts believe that less than 100 copies were pressed. Extremely rare!!!!!!
