Ultimate Spinach: Behold And See, original 1968 yellow-label mono promo on M-G-M E4570. This mono mix was never released commercially in the US, these promos are the only way to find it! It's been reissued by Sundazed, but the sound is unbalanced and generally inferior to the original pressings. This is almost certainly the rarest item in the Ultimate Spinach catalog, much rarer than mono copies of their first LP. These almost never show up! And of course for many, this is one of the all-time best psychedelic rock albums ever, boasting the well-loved "Mind Flowers," but really great from beginning to end and everywhere in between. Ian Bruce-Douglas really knew how to lay the introspective lyrics on thick, which ring loudly with reverb from the "other side"...
This copy was previously in possession of the radio station WLSU. The previous owner carefully took off the station's tape/stickers and started to remove the "W" but stopped as the paper started to rub, but other than the station's writing and some light foxing & ringwear this copy presents very nicely, no seam splits, no big corner dings, no water damage... But I'll give it the Good (G) grade to be conservative. The vinyl looks nice, there are only a handful of light scratches on both sides and the vinyl still has its shine, but it plays with light background background noise throughout, sounding at about the Very Good Minus (VG-) grade, beautiful clean mono labels with little spindle wear. It might just be a noisy pressing, I've only had one of these... Also the original company inner sleeve is included in excellent condition with no issues. Don't pass up your chance to get your hands on this very rare item! No '60s / '70s music collection is complete without the Spinach.
