Description
I provide a visual AND sound grade for almost all records. The visual grade simply describes the APPEARANCE of the vinyl and should not imply a particular sound grade.
NOTHING I sell has skips or repeats unless it is highly sought after or rare.
VINYL GRADES: NM High gloss with no noticeable marks, NM- has high gloss but may have a single area of surface imperfections on AT LEAST one side that is only visible on close inspection, VG+ has high gloss with more than one surface imperfection on AT LEAST one side that is visible only under bright lighting that should not affect play (e.g., light sleeve scuffing), VG has high gloss with more than one surface imperfection on AT LEAST one side that is visible on first glance and MAY affect play. G is EITHER dull from wear OR has significant (>30% of the playing surface affected) surface imperfections and MAY have scratches that can be felt (these will be described).
PLEASE NOTE: For these listings, vinyl graded as VG will NOT have scratches that you can feel. Rather, VG indicates moderate (10% - 30% of the playing surface affected) )sleeve scuffing or surface imperfections...It is being used as an "appearance" grade.
SOUND GRADES: NM rich and flawless sound throughout. I have never used this grade to this point, NM- has NO noted sound imperfections, VG+ has an occasional (one or two short stretches on AT LEAST one side) instance of noise that is not considered distracting, VG has minimal noise during stretches of play that is not overly distracting (EITHER audible pops/crackles OR low background hiss for extended periods), G has distracting noise during noticeable stretches of music.
LABEL GRADES: NM has no noticeable flaws, VG+ has a flaw on AT LEAST one side that is visible only when looking for it (such as light wear or discoloration or a CLEAN jukebox sticker ), VG has imperfection(s) that one notices at first glance on AT LEAST one side that BEGINS to distract, G has some sort of distracting imperfection that clearly detracts from the appearance of the label (I will attempt to describe the flaw in this case).
Assume all records come in plain, white sleeves unless otherwise noted (this is easiest for listing purposes - I will occasionally surprise a buyer with a company sleeve).

Label: Mercury (DJ), 73447
Vinyl: VG (High gloss, The ONLY imperfections on this one are 2 areas on both sides of what LOOKS like some sort of tape or sticky residue. I can NOT feel anything and have only tried warmed distilled water to remove them - with no success.)
Sound: Strong VG+ (The sound is absolutely flawless throughout EXCEPT at the areas described above. On Giving Up there are approximately 30 revolutions where there is a "click" as the needle passes over the flaws. On Booking Up there are approximately 15-20 revolutions of the same flaw. The clicks are below the level of the music and, if you are not specifically listening for them, almost all fade into the music - fewer than 1/4 of them are noticeable when not listening for them.)
Label: VG+ (Clean, bright lettering. Minor bubbling both sides, Side 2 has 7-8 small "nicks" along outer edge and some minor spindle wear along inner edge - see pic.)
Sleeve: VG+ or better (Assumed to be the original, gray company sleeve w/ "Philips Mercury Vertigo" across the top and "phonogram inc formerly mercury record productions inc" at the bottom, No splits, no writing, no major creases, one small tear at center hole.)

Notes: I intended to try to clean this one myself, but simply ran out of time. The sound is truly top-notch, even with the 20-30 seconds affected by the vinyl imperfections. This one has not been offered, to the best of my knowledge, this year and only twice in the past two years. Well worth the price and, if not COMPLETELY satisfied, I will issue a full refund once the disc is returned to me. NO PARTIAL refunds on this one. The description is incredibly accurate.
As always, I will happily issue a FULL refund (your choice of either cash or credit toward another item) if you are unhappy for ANY reason and contact me within 14 days of receiving a record. In most cases I will ask that the record be returned, at your expense.
Finally, I do not believe in using reserve prices. I will list opening bids of the minimum I am willing to accept for a record. If it's bid on, it is selling.
