Description
After the Tamla Motown group had a handful of releases in the U.K. on the London and Fontana labels up to mid-1962 their records were then released over here on the Oriole label for a year up to September 1963. (Full details of those releases can be found on my current ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’ eBay listing.)
From October 1963 Tamla records were released on EMI’s Stateside record label and for the next year and a half, up to February 1965, there were about 40-odd such records, including their first commercial successes in this country. However, Motown music was still not mainstream at that point.
In early 1965 it was decided to launch their own Tamla Motown record label, still under EMI. That also coincided with the first tour of their artists to the U.K. Both the tour and record label launch happened in March 1965.
In details on my ‘You Really Got A Hold On Me’ listing I refer to an article I wrote for the Toppermost site about that tour I went to see and between March and May 1965 the first 16 records were released on the new U.K. Tamla Motown label. These are listed below:-

On sale here, from the above list is Kim Weston’s great double-sider from 1965, ‘I’m Still Loving You’/‘Just Loving You’.
I personally prefer ‘Just Loving You’ but this has long been regarded as a classic Northern Soul double-sider. When I bought it in 1965 it was, simply, because I liked it. The term Northern Soul didn’t exist then, despite many early and mid-60’s soul classics now being referred to as such. (The term Northern Soul wasn’t in use before the late 1960’s and is said to have been first used by Soul Guru, Dave Godin.)
Both sides of the record play absolutely perfectly. Visibly, I can see no marks on the record. Over 56 years it has been played and handled a few times but, as I have said, plays perfectly. I can hear no extraneous surface noise. There is no handwriting on the record and I have graded it as Excellent (EX).
The record is in it’s original sleeve, which has no tears but over 56 years has experienced being handled quite a few times and been subjected to a few house moves, so is not pristine but is in good order. The only very small bit of handwriting on the sleeve is it’s catalogue number (511) written by me in the top right-hand corner on the front. I have graded the sleeve as Very Good.
The well packaged record will be despatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured, at a subsidised cost of £5.
