THE FOUR TOPS
ASK THE LONELY / WHERE DID YOU GO
TAMLA MOTOWN TMG507
RELEASED 1965
The Four Tops had been recording since 1956 and had four releases before they joined Motown. This was their third release on Motown, following ‘Baby I Need Your Loving’ and ‘Without The One You Love’. It was also their third release in the U.K. and their first one on the newly formed Tamla Motown label, in 1965. I bought this brand new at the time and it has been in my vast collection of Soul, R&B and Blues records ever since.
Both sides of the record play absolutely perfectly. Visibly, the record looks very clean. Over 56 years it has been played and handled a few times but, as I have said, plays perfectly. I can hear no extraneous surface noise. There is no handwriting on the record and I have graded it as Excellent (EX). [Any reflections in the photos are caused by the surroundings and are not on the vinyl.]
The record is in it’s original sleeve, which has no tears. Over 56 years the sleeve has been handled quite a bit but is in remarkably good condition. The only very small bit of handwriting on the sleeve is it’s catalogue number (507) written by me in the top right-hand corner on the front. I have graded the sleeve as Very Good+.
The well packaged record will be despatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured, at a subsidised cost of £5.
I always endeavour to combine postage where possible.
U.K. delivery only.
