Description
- The Beatles - "SOMETHING NEW" Apple Records -- ST-2108,
Originally issued in 1964 this is the 1971 reissue with "MFD BY APPLE" info is in the perimeter of the A side ONLY.
RARE ERROR COVER!!Although another ebay seller lists this issue as being "recalled", there is really no proof of this statement. However, it is a true oddity and it appears that this rare manufacturing error only came up on 1971 era West Coast manufactured covers. In the handful of these I've seen over the years, they all have Los Angeles pressed records with a "18" marked cover. What appears to have happened is Bert-Co Industries on the West Coast used a batch of old MONO Rear cover slicks for this issue! Mono had already been discontinued 3 years earlier!! The front slick is the correct Stereo slick! Accidental? Intentional to use up old inventory?? Who knows! It does make for an interesting and rare collectible! These do not come up for sale very often!
This is A Los Angeles pressing in it's correct cover with a "18" printed on the lower right back cover.
