Description
This is the real thing, "Meet the Residents" -- a FIRST PRESSING from Feb 1974 of 1000 discs (RR0274)! This was given as a gift to a comedian friend of the Residents, who then (jokingly) demanded five dollars from him. The album cover is in good shape with the exception of some tearing at the upper left corner, but the vinyl itself is in excellent, clean condition.
Released in 1974 on Ralph Records, the cover was a parody of The Beatles' first album; as a result, Capitol Records was angry and threatened to sue (though it is rumored that George Harrison or Ringo Starr loved the cover and bought a copy). The original pressing of the album sold a mere 40 copies in the first year.
