VERY RARE! SUPERB condition vinyl LP!!! Original 1st Mono Analogue pressing of the Kinks 'YOU REALLY GOT ME" on the green, pink and gold Reprise label (6143). Absolutely monumental album that did just as much to give birth to the power chord riff in rock than any other album. Dave Davies freight-train licks that begin brother Ray Davies' "You Really Got Me" set off a whole new generation of would-be power chord guitarists. This album also includes the timeless "Stop Your Sobbing" (later done by Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders).
The glorious Mono sound is superior--suitably perfect for a band like the Kinks whose rhythm section remains among the very finest in all of rock history. Pulverizing clarity! Pounding, heart-thumping bass, drums, and rhythm guitar work. Trust me, this original Mono Analogue pressing trumps any of the latter day Audiophile recordings produced by giants like Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs (MFSL).
GORGEOUS MINT- vinyl!!! As solid as they come!!!
The cover is STRONG VG/V+. Just some typical (and very slight!) evidence of some wear on the the front bottom edges, and some age coloration on the white areas of the back cover edges.
