James Brown ACETATE 
"I've Got You"
 (I Got You - I Feel Good)

Item Description:. This is a super rare ONE-OF-A-KIND one sided 45 4pm acetate by the "Godfather of Soul".  It is James Brown's "I've Got You" later known as "I Got You". This is the September 19, 1964 version that was LATER included in the Star Time Box - but this is the acetate from 1964!!!!! It was originally set to be release by Smash Records in 1964 but was held up due to a court order.  This was recorded a full 8 months before the classic version we all know and love "I Got You - I Feel Good' was recorded and released as a single in 1965 on King Records, it was his highest charting song and is arguably his most widely known recording. If you look in the Star Time Booklet, you will see this early version was recorded with different musicians including Bobby Byrd on keyboard which the hit version does not have. Unfortunately, the previous owner tried to clean it with D4 Cleaner which left white on the record.  It plays through with the usual pops and ticks but amazing to listen the the acetate that James Brown himself or other important people may have listened to. As you are all aware, you can count on one hand the number of these that were pressed and that these are extremely hard to find - but here is James Brown's greatest single in a rare form. Amazing piece of history!!! "Get on Up"
