Description
The mega rare, Monster, Mod., Psych., Northern Soul/Funk 45rpm from Justin (although label shows his name mis-spelt as Justine). This the original 1st UK pressing of " Right Now " from the small, private label, Buffalo, Cat. No. BFS. 1001. It's a terrific mid-tempo dancer. Flip side is a sad, soulful ballad " The Place Where Sorrow Hides ". Nothing much known about Justin , but from the emotion he puts into this song, he sounds like a tortured soul.
The 'A' side is a Northern Soul classic, as well as falling into the other genres of Soul/Funk/Psych Vinyl is graded in Ex+ Cond. for " Right Now " and in Mint Cond. for the flip side " The Place Where Sorrow Hides ". I'll explain why I've graded them as such.
I bought this 45rpm from the Soul City Record Shop in Holborn, London, run by Dave Godin et al, as soon as I came out. Due to having a very large collection, I never got round to playing some of them as much as others. " Right Now " I would say, I never played more than 3 or 4 times. The flip side " A Place Where Sorrow Hides ", I've never played at all. I know how good it is, as I just listened to it on YouTube, a video showing it on a green Down East label, although the record sounded very scratched to me. I decided to YouTube it, instead of playing it to grade, so that this this side would remain in Mint Cond. It looks great visually, in pristine condition as indeed does the other side.
Just as an aside, I will mention, although many of you will know anyway, it was Dave Godin of the Soul City Record Shop, that coined the phrase " Northern Soul " ! Good Luck if you're bidding for this very rare 45rpm, particularly in such great condition. Depending on the final selling price, it may be prudent for this item, to be insured.
