Add’’l Comments: HERE IT IS, ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER R&B LPS AMONG COLLECTORS!  THIS IS THE MIDNIGHTERS ON FEDERAL LABEL.  THIS IS THE 1ST PRESSING WITH THE RED BACKGROUND ON THE COVER.   

     PLEASE READ THE CONDITION CAREFULLY - THE VINYL SHOWS OVERALL LIGHT TO MODERATE WEAR FROM STACKING AND SLEEVE CONTACT.  THERE ARE ALSO A FEW NEEDLE SCRATCHES THAT CAN BE SEEN UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT BUT NOTHING THAT CAUSES ANY SKIPS.  THE SOUND QUALITY OF THE RECORD IS GREAT.  YES, THERE IS EVIDENT BACKGROUND CRACKLE BUT IT BY NO MEANS OVERWHELMS THE LISTENING PLEASURE OF THE RECORD.

     THE LABEL SHOWS VERY NICELY WITH ONLY LIGHT WEAR AROUND THE SPINDLE HOLE AND SOME SPINDLE MARKS FROM MIS-HITS FROM THE LAST 52 YEARS.  THE COVER IS COMPLETE AND SHOWS MODERATE AGE WEAR BUT STILL LOOKS GREAT.  THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THE COVER IS BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM SEAMS ARE COMPLETELY SPLIT AND AT SOME TIME (IT LOOKS LIKE MANY YEARS AGO) THE OWNER DID A HORRIBLE TAPE JOB AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTOS.  THE CORNERS ARE SLIGHTLY BUMPED.

     AFTER ALL OF THAT, YOU WILL STILL BE BIDDING ON A VERY GOOD COPY OF THE RARE LP - IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MINT COPY, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!  IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS COLLECTOR LOOKING FOR A VERY NICE PIECE FOR YOUR COLLECTION, THIS LP WILL WORK.  WE ARE STARTING THE LP AT A LOW STARTING BID AND WILL LET IT GO WITH NO RESERVE.  PLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING.  THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!

We grade all vinyl according to the Goldmine standards which are as follows:

Mint (M) - "These are absolutely perfect in every way."

Near Mint (NM) - "it looks like it just came from a retail store and was opened for the first time." NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers, or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any spindle marks from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable.

Very Good Plus (VG+) - These records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated play has not misshaped the center hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticed.

Very Good (VG) - These records have more obvious flaws. The lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches, deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, perhaps even an occasional audible light scratch, especially in soft passages and during a song’’s intro and ending.

Lesser grades such as Good (G), Good Plus (G+), or Very Good Minus (VG-) will be addressed at time of listing.
