Here's a Mint Minus (M-), unplayed copy of Gator Bait b/w Wasted on Gatur Records.
These two club classics are two slices of deep-in-the pocket, deep fried New Orleans instrumental funk from The Gaturs featuring the atmospheric electric piano of Willie Tee, the highly influential and prolific, N.O.-based singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, producer and Gatur Records label head.
The Gaturs on this single also include Larry Panna on drums, Erving Charles on bass, Guitar June Ray on guitar and Alfred Uganda Roberts on congas.
As The New Orleans Project, Willie Tee and The Gaturs plus Willie's brother, reedman Earl Turbinton, went on to back Big Chief Bo Dollis and The Wild Magnolias Mardi Gras Indian tribe on their groundbreaking 1973 and 1975 albums for the French Barclay label.
