Up for auction is one of the rarest Def Leppard items ever to exist.. so rare, in fact, that most collectors don’t even know about it.. the only other one I have ever seen on eBay was one that was listed back in 2012.. and it sold for $550!!! Here is the link to it..

Okay, all you diehard DEF LEPPARD collectors.. this is the listing you've all been waiting for! Feast your eyes upon THIS, as I'll bet you've never seen one before, and you will probably NEVER see another one ever again!
Up for auction is an EXTREMELY RARE Australasian pressing of Def Leppard’s "On Through The Night" LP.. what makes this unique is that it is the ‘mythical’ & 'legendary' GATEFOLD EDITION, which was reportedly limited to ONLY FIFTY COPIES pressed, making it one of the rarest Def Leppard items ever. When I say it's a gatefold sleeve, that means it opens up like a big book, with the record concealed in a hidden compartment inside.. very cool, indeed!
I do not know if this is from Australia or New Zealand, as it does state ‘Australasia’ on it, which usually means that general region. It might even be a promo version, being in a gatefold sleeve and all (the standard Aussie version is in a regular sleeve). I have emailed some Def Leppard collectors over the last week (I’m not really a fan of the band anymore) about this record, and two of them told me that they didn’t even know it existed, although they have heard rumors of it before, but have never actually seen one.
This auction is subject to end at any time with no notice, as it is also listed elsewhere on the internet in a couple Lep fan websites, and a couple Def Lep collectors have made me offers.. so if you want it, then you have to be fast to spot this and click on the "Buy It Now". I’m glad I asked around, as I did not know how rare this item truly is.. but when I was getting offers of $400+ for it, I decided to wait and list it on here, to see what it is really worth. Now it is on eBay, and so it is fair game to the lucky first person to buy it. This is the ULTIMATE Def Leppard rarity that nobody has been able to find.. and you will most likely NEVER SEE ANOTHER copy of this, as most of the 50 pressed were probably either destroyed or thrown away over the 35 years since it came out. My brother, who lives in Sydney, Australia, bought it in an estate sale several years ago.
