Description

We just came across a collection of albums from someone who was related to a gentleman who own WBLJ in Dalton, GA many years ago.  The radio station must’ve mainly played classical music, as well as jazz, the blues, swing and other genres from the late 50s to mid 60s.  We purchased more than 1,000 albums that are in incredible shape.  More than 500 of them are white label radio station promo albums, also known as DJ promos.  Most of these albums were pressed in England, Germany, Italy, Australia and other European and Asian nations.  We will be listing this incredible collection over the coming weeks.

Be sure to check our store often, as we will be adding tons of albums and other items.  If you have any personal album requests and it’s related to classical, chances are, this guy owned it in his personal collection or acquired through his uncle at WBLJ.  We will be happy to list it if we have it and will contact you once it has been listed for sale.

Any album we sell is play tested if it has a scratch.  If it has only a few, we will play the song(s) that the scratch runs through.  If there are a number of scratches, we will play the album in it's entirety.  If the album is too bad off, we won't even think of selling it.  If we do find any ticks, skips, etc., we note where they are on the record and let the buyer know.

For sale is the Promo LP described in the title and shown in the pictures.

This album is a SAMPLE COPY from Decca and is among the earliest and rarest copies of this album from one of the all-time jazz legends.

This album is in incredibly nice condition.  The LP looks almost flawless and has outstanding jet black original gloss.  I could only find one very minor scratch on the LP, although, there are some smudges/marks on the vinyl.  The labels and center hole are in great condition. but they do have PROPERTY OF WBLJ stamped on them.  Outside of those stamps, this album is spectacular.  I’d give this album a very solid VG++/EX.

The cover is in great shape with no seam splits.  There is no writing, cutout marks, tape marks, tags (other than the SAMPLE COPY sticker on the back), or anything else on the cover.  The back of the cover looks great and inside of the gatefold is absolutely immaculate.  All album information can be read along the spine.  There are four little bubbles, for lack of a better word, on the front of the cover where the picture has probably come separated from the cardboard behind it.  I'd estimate this cover to be very solid VG+.

The inner sleeve is also in fabulous condition with no seam splits.  There is virtually nothing wrong with this sleeve and it shows only very minor ring wear.  I'd estimate the sleeve to be a solid VG+.

Please ensure that you are familiar with the Goldmine Grading Guidelines.

We always strive to provide the most accurate condition of everything we sell and will always lean toward the conservative side in our estimations, particularly on items that condition is paramount to their value and/or functionality.  However, if you are ever dissatisfied with your purchase, we will always accept a return, per the return guidelines.

Please take a close look at the pictures and ask any questions if necessary.

Albums will be shipped in an album shipping box.  We are happy to provide combined shipping for multiple purchases.  Shipping costs are $4.00 for the first album and 50 cents for each additional album purchased.

SPEND $25 AND DOMESTIC SHIPPING IS FREE.  We combine shipping for international orders, but due to the varying rates to different countries and limited options on here, we will provide a combined international shipping rate upon request.

PLEASE NOTE: NM/M- records are virtually nonexistent, particularly ones that have been around for 30+ years and played over the years. Industry experts generally agree that no more than 2-4% of albums are truly NM/M- and virtually none exist that are MINT. Many sellers will grade a number of their albums as NM/M-. For an album to be NM/M- is cannot have ANY visible defects. Any smudge, scratch, or blemish is a visible defect. Any crack or worn area around a center hole and/or label is a visible defect. We have come across many albums, many being in my own personal collection, that are absolutely flawless in sound quality, but have a(some) smudge(s) or very minor scratch(es). We will NEVER grade these albums NM/M- because of these visible defects. If an album has one smudge or scratch, we do not grade it NM/M-, nor should any other seller. We grade less than 1% of the albums we put up for sale as NM/M- for this reason. With that said, we always under grade our albums, standing on the conservative side of grading to ensure customer satisfaction.

Thanks for looking and God bless!
