Vinyl Records For Sale
I rate this record vg+. The vinyl is shiny and there are no bad scratches. I have played it and there is only a couple of faint clicks. Plays strong and sounds good. Visually there are some tiny bumps in the vinyl but you hear nothing when it is played. The label has the initials ACB written on one side. It will be shipped in a plain sleeve as the original is missing.

According to wikipedia:
He recorded his first single in 1957, "You Don't Treat Me Right" and :Irma Lee" for the Cobra label under the direction of Willie Dixon after Dixon saw him playing with the Walter Johnson Orchestra.

After a particularly strong performance by Shorty in Florida, the great Willie Dixon, who was in the audience, approached Shorty and said, "I like what you're doing. You've got something different. I gotta get you in the studio." A few weeks later Shorty was in Chicago and, backed by Otis Rush on second guitar, he cut his first single, "Irma Lee" b/w "You Don't Treat Me Right," for Chicago's famed Cobra Records (the first label home for Rush, Magic Sam and Buddy Guy) in 1957. "Willie Dixon was a huge influence on me and my singing," Shorty remembers. "Willie helped me find my own singing voice and showed me how to tell a story with my words."

LABEL : Cobra#5017 stock issue
CONDITION : The record is shiny and around VG. Plays through with some light back crackle and a few ticks with one more pronounced tick at the fade out. I test played the record with 4 grams of tone arm weight. I did not test the flip side.
COMMENTS : Extremely rare elusive seldom seen Chicago blues release. I spoke with guitar Shorty 3 years ago in Austin Texas at the Saxon Pub. He mentioned that this record was VERY rare and not many were pressed, probably less than 1000 were made. Don't miss this one as it is a rare find in ANY condition.

After numerous inquiries regarding the exact grade of this record. I have concluded it is visually G+ to about/around VG. It plays with some ticks and crackle as noted in the description.
