very rare and wonderful compilation of 60s and 70s cambodian pop music featuring the legendary singers sinn sisamouth, ros sereysothea, and pen ran. released on the angkor label, these appear to date from the mid to late 70s.
"i'm not entirely sure of the story with these LPs, i think they may have been pressed for cambodian refugee communities and distributed covertly during the rule of the khmer rouge, when music was banned and musicians were summarily executed. very rare in any case,they are very interesting pieces of history, and of course the music is absolutely incredible. "
both record and cover are in near mint condition.
