Description
The Beatles sing "SHE LOVES YOU" b/w I'LL GET YOU on this Swan 7" 45 rpm RECORD and PICTURE SLEEVE. (S-4152) VG+ Condition is "used." Ships inexpensively by USPS Media mail.
This auction is for a VG+ Swan Records 45 record and VG+ picture sleeve for "SHE LOVES YOU" backed with "I'LL GET YOU" by The Beatles, issued in January 1964. (The record was originally released on September 16, 1963 without a picture sleeve.) It was a #1 hit and set a record in the U.S. as one of the five Beatles songs that held the top five positions on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, on April 4, 1964. In November 2004, Rolling Stone ranked "She Loves You" #64 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
The record is the flat black label with silver print version. The words "Don't Drop Out" DO NOT appear on the label. There are quotation marks around the titles and "Gil Music Corp. BMI" appears on three (3) lines on Side 1. Also, the words "MASTERING RECO-ART PHILA." are found in the dead wax with the matrix numbers, (S - 4145 - S and S - 4145 - I) respectively.
The picture sleeve (only issued with the 1964 black/silver label copies) is a strong VG+ with no tears, no split seams or writing, and lays perfectly flat.
This set would be a great (and inexpensive) addition to the "Rare Records" section of your Beatles Collection as early Beatles records in good condition are always in demand and hold their value remarkably well.
