- For sale is an authentic, Beatles Yesterday & Today LP ‘2nd State’ aka Butcher Cover paste-over. Issued in 1966, this recalled LP was pasted over with the familiar trunk cover slick. This is a SUPER clean copy with no seam splits or any attempt at peeling! Comes with original inner slv. & record. The LP is used and shows scuffs but as you know, this auction is about the jacket. Only very minor wear to cover and a small nick/paper loss at bottom back. No yellow 'aging' commonly seen on this white cover, just normal storage wear you'd expect on a 55 yr old LP.
RIAA #6 on back indicates L.A. pressing plant.
As an added bonus the winner will receive a reproduction mono butcher slick - exact size & color of the original - and a reprint of the letter of recall. These look great framed together. As more of these are peeled, many collectors believe that leaving the trunk cover on as issued or in its '2nd state', makes them more valuable.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a cleaner, whiter copy of this 56 year old item on ebay!
