Description
Hello Fellow E-Bayers, and Jazz Vinyl Freaks! It has come time for me to sell a few more of my beloved collection of RARE ORIGINAL JAZZ LP's. Perhaps some background info about me is a good idea: I am an internationally known jazz pianist and recording artist, and have been collecting records since I was a kid - roughly 45 years. In my lifetime of seeking and collecting vintage Jazz LP's, I have tried to only buy records in VG+ or better condition. They have always been lovingly cared for, played on a Sota Sapphire Turntable or a Transrotor Leonardo Turntable with a Grado Reference cartridge with a very light tracking weight. Every LP has been meticulously and lovingly kept inside plastic sleeves in a non-smoking environment. Please read my feedback, and bid with confidence. Every record I list will be as accurately described as is humanly possible.
Here for your consideration is the first pressing of an extremely rare Jazz LP: This is organ legend BABY FACE WILLETTE "FACE TO FACE" on BLUE NOTE RECORDS. This is the original DEEP GROOVE MONO pressing, # 4068. It has the HAND ETCHED MATRIX NUMBER in the out groove, the RVG stamp, as well as the famous Plastylite "EAR". The record is conservatively rated in VG+ condition, with nice gloss/sheen, no scratches, period - no deep or even marginally feelable scratches. There are a few light marks - and thats all. Not flawless - but eminently presentable and very listenable - this is a record any Jazz vinyl enthusiast - except the most over the top "I only buy MINT LP's" kind of person - would be PROUD to own. The labels are clean, free of spindle marks. However, the record plays beautifully - with just a faint amount of occasional background noise - and perhaps an occasional "pop" or light "click" but hey - Its 60 years old...believe me, nothing ever over powers the amazing music contained on this incredible LP. The cover is in VG/VG+ condition, with virtually no real discernible wear, except a bit of shelf wear - and a small tear that has been colored black to match the jacket near the middle of the front opening - see the pics. The iconic photo is crisp and clear, as are the graphics. Featured musicians include FRED JACKSON, Tenor Sax; GRANT GREEN, Guitar; BABY FACE WILLETTE, organ; and BEN DIXON, Drums. This is definitely a rare BLUE NOTE LP, and for BLUE NOTE enthusiasts, this is a great find - and Im setting a very reasonable "BUY IT NOW" price, although Im open to a fair offer.
Thanks for looking, and feel free to email me with any questions.
Best,
