PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. "Sidewalks Talking" finds a fantastic mixture of all kinds of influences: popsike tunes ala Left Banke, introspective mellow psych cuts with enchanting mystical feel ala Common People/Gandalf,ethereal folk moves ala Ithaca, kaleidoscoptic psych effects ala Smoke(the US band), very slight proto-progressive evolvments ala Procol Harum,some nice classical touches ala Moody Blues, flower/power atmosphere ala Strawberry Alarm Clock,trance-like vocals, beautilful orchestrations, spacey flute parts, scattered fuzz outbursts…
The sole album, "SIDEWALKS TALKING" by this Chicago based duo is a treasure trove of strong melodies and dreamy vocal harmonies, which appeared in 1970 on the Ovation label. Expect a gorgeous, ethereal blend of psychedelic folk and offbeat pop supported by an odd assortment of instruments including flute, bells and fuzz guitar. ‘Sidewalk Talking’ is sure to appeal to all fans of overlooked acid folk and popsike.No wonder it has been sampled by DJ Shadow ...This is a perfectly produced and arranged popsike concept, an ode to the free mind structured by intelligent reconsiderations. It is an album that grows in depth with each listen. The songs are working on a different, almost meditative level, at times directing towards awareness in advance of a conscious dream state, with gateways of instrumentals like paths that direct this way, with a fundament of strummed guitar and flute improvisations, and lots of arrangements. “Hard Headed Women” is one of the most ambitious and longest tracks, starting with a more rockier singing, and with parts of almost classical & contemporary classical arrangements and without percussion, and another part with drums and kettle drums, while turning this again into something (prog)rockier, on “Home?”, in a progressive and ever changing way. This is followed by another flute part which sounds like a baroque improvisation, which is a Bach composition returning to a classical foundation. “Digress” is more up tempo and rockier as well, is almost avant-garde with its lyrics, like an anti-intellectual-chitchat song, powerful again, just like an ode to real expressions, evolving over a sound collage of thunder and street noises to a somewhat complex structured laid back song. The whole album is mixed like a perfect musical story with lots of facets hanging together on many levels from a variety of experiences.
