CLEAN...RARE... ORIGINAL 1974 advance release WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL collectible of one of the early doom heavy-psych classic BLACK SABBATH albums...

Definitely some drug induced, hopelessly coherent, and dead-on amazing tracks littering this album. Sabbath hit some major nerves on this release delving into redemption, resurrection, love, love lost, alcoholism/addictions, the devil, double edged swords, and higher elements of the universe - no weak tracks! Turn it up all the way and allow Sabbath to take you on a powerful journey.

The album is opened with the exloding riff of 'Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath', title track which is one of the highlights, and an all-time classic for the band, followed by the extraordinary 'A National Acrobat', featuring an ace guitar's structure by Iommi, excellent throbbing bass & drums by Butler/Ward, and sneering vocals by an Ozzy Osbourne who is in great form here.
'Fluff' is one of those Tony Iommi's instrumentals the early Black Sabbath used to include in their albums, and the next song, which closes the side one, 'Sabbra cadabra', is a formidable blues rock, with prog touches and infernal shifts... The side two is opened with the fierce and melancholic 'Killing Yourself to Live' (written by bassist Geezer Butler while in hospital for kidney problems caused by heavy drinking), song that includes more 'progressive' shifts, and once again a sizzling razor guitar by Tony Iommi; being followed by the obscure 'Who Are You', maybe the strangest track of the album, with its perverse vibe, its symphonic passages and its Moog synthesiser...

Encrusted into the spacey end of 'Who Are You' starts the upbeat, almost joyful hard rock 'Looking For Today', marking a strong contrast of moods: the end arrives with another great cut, the triumphant 'Spiral Architect', another track with symphonic moments.

This album closes the early Black Sabbath's epoch, substituting the groovy proto-doom with a more elaborate 'hard prog' approach...

CONDITION: The cover is hard to find clean because of the dark boarder, this pre-release has a little light shelf wear around the dark boarders only, otherwise the graphics are bright, colorful and clean...VG+(+) front cover, near "EX" (excellent) CLEAN back cover...PROMO sticker on front cover, is unique to the limited advance issue

The vinyl is all clean and clear over both sides, M- looks and plays C-L-E-A-N with clean white promo labels
