Description
If you know hard rock and roll in the Detroit vein, chances are you will have wanted to own a copy of City Slang. Here's your chance.
This is an original, first edition copy in near mint condition. The sleeve shows some ring-wear but, hey, what do you expect? The owner has visually graded the disc.
The first release of this 33rpm 7" single came out in 1978 in versions with text in three different colours. This is the blue printing with the words "This is a special preview edition" which leads collectors to presume it was for promotional purposes.
It carries the song "City Slang" on each side - in stereo and mono versions - and for many years it was the sole recorded legacy of this late, great band, whose ranks featured Fred "Sonic" Smith (MC5) on guitar and vocals, Scott Morgan (The Rationals) on vocals and guitar, Scott "Rock Action" Asheton (The Stooges) on drums and Gary Rasmussen (The Up) on bass.
This comes from the private collection of a collector, based in France, so make allowances for shipping time. It is also the greatest rock and roll single ever released.
