Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1974 first pressing of the album that thrust UFO into stardom with the groovin' psychedelic underground band when they surprisingly grabbed the golden guitarist Michael Shenker into their line up, the hookup instantly jelled the group adding hardrock fire-power and finesse resulting in the PHENOMENON album, a hardrocker with the classic UFO sound.  

UFO left their blues-based "space rock" sound behind, in part due to the presence of new guitarist Michael Schenker. The album was produced by Leo Lyons, bassist of British rock group Ten Years After. All tracks were recorded at Morgan Studios in London. The original cover design and photos were produced by Hipgnosis.

Formed in 1969, coming out around the time the great Black Sabbath started. Whereas Sabbath took a doomy, dark, depressive approach to their music, UFO infused their music with the party spirit of bluesy psychedelic rock jams... UFO launched themselves into the outer atmosphere with the inclusion of Michael Schenker. They are pure heavy rock with a killer classic sound. Michael Schenker’s guitar work really helps UFO, adding great melodies. Listen to the sizzling rockers “Doctor, Doctor” or “Rock Bottom,” where you really imagine the songs not being nearly as good if not for their new star's  guitar playing. As well Michael’s melodic guitar work really shines on the closer of the album, “Queen of the Deep.” This slow paced song has a fantastic guitar solo, which manages to be energizing and disturbing at the same time.

The vocals on this album are perfect for the sound. Phil Mogg’s delivery is stellar, like on the aforementioned “Queen of the Deep” and “Doctor, Doctor.”

The rhythm section is tight, with Pete Way rumbling along on bass, and Andy Parker hitting the drums in time with the song, with cool drum parts along the way.  

Overall, this is a great album, worthy of any early '70s hardrock fans collections.

CONDITION: The cover: stiff and solid with striking hipgnosis cover design M- front cover and VG++ back cover = there is a phone number in pen on back cover top right border which is minor - see photo #2)  ... no split seams, no bends, no fading ...has a promotional sticker at bottom right corner that adds to the value as a unique pre-release PROMO...

The vinyl: all shiny over both sides, top MINT looks about unplayed, That clean... both labels are clean ...
