Description
--> This item is from the estate of Ira Gitler, influential jazz critic and historian, whose writing appeared regularly in magazines like DownBeat and JazzTimes. He wrote several books on the subject including multiple editions of The Encyclopedia of Jazz. Ira Gitler was also one of the most prodigious writers of liner notes, annotating more than 700 albums. In 2017 he was named a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Rare DJ Promo version of the original 1973 pressing of jazz guitarist Jack Wilkins's 'Windows' album. Includes his cover version of Freddie Hubbard's 'Red Clay' as sampled by A Tribe Called Quest for their 1993 Midnight Marauders album and was sampled by Chance the Rapper in 2013.
Gatefold edition that includes liner notes by Nat Hentoff and photos of the musicians.
There is damage (dent/tear) to the the back cover/right side of the gatefold (see photos) but record and cover are otherwise untouched having sat on a shelf since the 1970s.
