PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE....Original 1972 ITALIAN first pressing of great and legendary Italiano Progressive....
This album has a mood that shifts around constantly from heavenly to beautiful, to dark and haunting, all while keeping your attention the entire way. With influences of King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Caravan, Yes and Jethro Tull (strangely enough, not Genesis however) not to mention a few surprising moments, such as an Irish-sounding arrangement on "Generale" and Beach Boys-like soaring harmonies on "Geranio".
Don't worry about the fact the vocals are in Italian. If you don't know the language, it doesn't matter because the amazingly large variety of musical instruments, and the diverse style of songwriting will win you over very quickly. We especially love how the entire album was worked on carefully to make every song as perfect as possible.
Everything just clicks together perfectly with these musicians, with beautifully interwoven melodies, rapidly changing time signatures and some good hard jamming.
The most obvious influence is early King Crimson, by the way the flutes sound and the pleasant vibes in the atmosphere (similar to Crimson's first album). The emotions flow throught the album, with the best and coolest effects -for a 1972 record. Check this one out, specially the incredible "Il Banchetto". If you like classic prog, you will find out that is really not important to speak Italian to enjoy this masterpiece. "Il Banchetto" really shows the band at their best. There's even some keys in there that sounds like it came right off ELP's Brain Salad Surgery (although be aware, Brain Salad Surgery was not released until a year after Per Un Amico) and also the wonderful use of Moog and even harp. There's a lot going on here ... "Appena Un Poco" is very much in typical PFM fashion, acoustic, pastoral, and great vocal harmonies; a little King Crimson, it bears a small resemblance to Crimson's "Epitaph".

CONDITION: The cover: Very fragile and delivate, been in pretty careful hands over the past 43 years, rated: "EX" (excellent) and better having only a light small sticker removal residue at top right...nice enough to represent as a final collection copy with bright original colors...no split seams, no bends, no writing...
The vinyl: all glossy clean "EX" (excellent) to M- plays nicely enjoyable without alarmlng audio problems ....and has clean Numero Uno labels
