Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Thee 1972 U.K. first pressing and second of two collectible releases by the English underground progressive rock band BYZANTIUM ...
Includes the scarce original UK printed inner sleeve with photos of other British albums on the label....
These Byzantium albums are so hard to find 40 years later.... These guys are more of a hardrock band with some progressive tendencies, not really a full-fledged prog band. Think early Uriah Heep with a little Wishbone Ash sprinkled in and you get the idea. They deliver textured varied mixes also using acoustic guitar, while also electric guitar, keyboards leading the way... The tracks range from fairly heavy to melodic-like, with pretty much all of the songs heavy with three-part harmony vocals from bassist Robin Lamble, guitarist/keyboardist Chaz Jankel, and guitarist Nico Ramsden. Stand out material includes; “Trade Wind” which is very Wishbone Ash-sounding with great vocal harmonies and those early seventies partly mystical/hippie lyrics. “Into the Country” is one of those early seventies ‘let’s all frolic in the meadow’ kind of songs with a bit of a dark edge to it. “Lady Friend” has a pleasant rolling rhythm wrapped in a love song with romantic backing atmospherics, a nice tune but somewhat out of character with the rest of the album. "What Is Happening" leads the way with guitar popping like water in hot fat, while triple vvals suggest "Get Some Fresh Air" ... "Come Fair One" explodes over and over in ecsataic harmonies, sweet in contrast to the curdled guitar for effect, fed through Leslie speakers. "Baby I Can Hear You Calling Me" finds the lead guitar leaping from speaker to speaker before the number snaps closed. However, the marquee track is the sometimes experimental and tempo-shifting eleven minute mini-epic “Why or maybe it's Because”, full of synthesized strings, staccato piano, and more ‘For my Lady’ type lyrics. This is the kind of tune that would have played very well live back then (and probably today for progressive rock audience fans), with extended soloings ongoing for several minutes. In all this is a solid album, and recommended to early seventies heavy prog fans. - Robin Lamble / vocal, bass- Chas Jankel / vocal, guitar, keyboards

CONDITION: The Cover: the 40 year old fragile UK cover is solid and crisp "EX" (excellent) very collectible with no alarming problems, very slight minor sticker removal marks at top right (nothing much at all)... No split seams, no bends, no writing and bright original colors...
The Vinyl: all clean and clear, M- looks TOP LEVEL and plays outstandingly clear and clean al the way ... both UK A&M labels are clean
