We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE - highly collectible Original 1973 BRITISH first pressing on the WANTED "VERTIGO SWIRL" label in attractive psychedelic designed gatefold cover... A TOP COPY !

Overall this is a great unique and innovative album -- especially the last track "Snakehips' Dream" (15:28) being really fantastic. Highly recommended for all jazz/rock/prog fusion freaks!

“Solar Plexus” is a carefully structured album, and although it still has time reserved for improvisations, its textures, brimming with contrapuntal themes and intricate arrangements the many instruments allowed to elaborate, are admittedly based on the two short, VCS3 stated themes on the opening “Elements I & II”; the inclusion of this synthesizer, at the time the latest state-of-the-art technological device, and for which Keith Winter was enlisted as the operator, although seemingly contradictory is another proof of Carr’s broad artist horizons.

The music also plays on the contrast offered by the trio of wind-blowers: Kenny Wheeler’s clear tone and blazing work illuminates “Changing Times”, which alternates between ternary and quaternary tempos, features a enthusiastic tenor solo by Tony Roberts and is impelled by a maze of percussive work( Chris Karanpercussions coupled with John Marshall powerful drumming) and propulsive chopped-off guitar strumming that dispute sonic space with the enthralling, soloists galvanizing, fractured backing arrangements; Harry Beckettslowly gives shape to a lyrical theme on “Spirit Level” after a free-form conversational intro between Robert’s bass clarinet and Ron Matthewson’s bass guitar, and at the 1st drum stick snare hit he assumes full control and plays his cards so convincingly that he ends up escaping the gorgeous undulating arrangement and concludes solitarily; as for the leader, his sweeping wails and slicing, subtly electronically spiced syncopations grace the 2nd part of the long final “Snakehips’ Dream”, a Jam built around a fixed riff by the slapped, plucked, growling and roaring basses, guitar and electric piano intertwining on the infectious Afro/tribal groove, whereBrian Smith, like a ceremonial priest cooks an enchanting tenor solo before he offers the pulpit to Ian Carr.

Other contrasts are exposed on “Bedrock Deadlock” which opens with a dreamy intro suspended upon Jeff Clyne’s bowed bass and Karl Jenkins lyrical oboe, and touches the ground as Chris Spedding launches a light funky guitar drive that fuses in a gilded perfection with Jenkins ornamentations before the backing arrangements subtly give birth to a long, angular, hard-blues riff where everyone trades short statements in a whirlpool of contrapuntal glory; as for “Torso” it’s an effervescent piece with almost folk-melodies and an irresistible groove, where Smith delivers incandescent soprano flights amidst a web of melodies shooting from every direction atop a bubbling bass and indefatigable drum rolls and fills.

All in all a fabulous album
