Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. ORIGINAL 1967 first pressing in really thick gatefold cover...
The band’s 1967 debut Kites Are Fun placed them squarely in the realm of sunshine pop acts like Curt Boettcher and Gary Usher’s Sagittarius, but with the unmistakably precious Greenwich Village sound. Its songs are uniformly well arranged and performed, sparkling with some of the clearest sound of the era, and are also consistently pleasant and inoffensive, offering an amiable take on the counterculture’s message of peace, love and freedom. The Free Design make no bones about their wholesome convictions in the title track: “We’d like to be a zillion miles away from everyone/ ‘Cause Mom and Dad and Uncle Bill don’t realize Kites Are Fun.” The intricate vocal lines, using sophisticated harmonies carry out its beyond-innocent charms. “The Proper Ornaments” adds in “ba-ba” vocal counterpoint reminiscent of the Beach Boys and The Mamas & the Papas, in addition to a baroque arrangement featuring harpsichord ; it’s as refined a piece of music as was released in the decade, though did the band no favors in hipper circles until 40 years later when the "in-crowd" finally arrived on their groovy sound-scapes.

CONDITION: The cover is a really thick gatefold, colorful and clean ... with only a tiny almost unnoticable ding on one corner, otherwise "EX" (excellent) having no bends, no split seams and no writing....
The vinyl is glossy over both sides with only hairline slide scuffs (top surface) so looks VG+(+) and the deep groove pressing plays excellent enjoyable.
