PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. "The Motions" from The Hague, Holland were one of the bigger groups of the 1960s Dutch Beat Explosion. All but one of the dozen songs on "The Motions"' first LP (1965) were penned by their leader "Robbie Van Leeuwen", their reliance upon original material in itself setting them apart from many non-British European bands.As far as 60's "beat" music goes, this is "God"-level stuff. It's far and away better than almost everything the British beat scene could come up with. Not overly syrupy like the Searchers or overly sentimental like Gerry & The Pacemakers. The fiery fuzz-guitar work and highly catchy/memorable songwriting skills of Robbie van Leeuwen (later of Shocking Blue) are nothing short of excellent and the drums and percussion simply roar. The softer moments of the album are great as well such as the somber "I'll Follow the Sun", no relation to the Beatles track, but certainly as strong as the Beatles style. Their is music often with echoes of both Merseybeat and early MOD Rock (some "You Really Got Me" styled Kinks influences are especially evident). It's simultaneously moody and exuberant, the best and most tuneful track being "For Another Man". Lets put it this way - to many '60s music collectors - this Motions album has the strong potential to be the best, most solid discovery you've yet to come across - it's that riveting start to finish...

CONDITION: The cover: rated: "EX" (excellent) impossible to find a better copy, this is near paper-thin cover, orig copies would likely be wrinkled & worn-out 50+ years later, but here a nice clean survivor - no wear, just light handling evident, nothing more! Remarkably still has a fresh appearance -- there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... Collection worthy ESSENTIAL ...
The vinyl: Rated: about "EX" (excellent) very clean, maybe some inner paper sleeve type scuffs, we played it and besides being incredibly entertaining, played really fine here. Both Dutch Havoc labels are clean
