We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Super rare and collectible 1965 original first pressing in glorious MONO on the British first issued Decca Records label...complete with nice laminated cover, seen this one only a couple times before going for high prices...starting out with a low bid, roll the dice and grab an authentic British relic in GREAT clean shape....
The (RARE) MONO issue contains a bold pounch in the production that is really suitable for the sounds of the sixties....
Here, a rare collectible of the early UK BLUES BOOM BEGINNINGS...this JOHN MAYALL group was the start of THE BLUES BREAKERS; at this period in the mid sixties, a quintet, containing a fine array of musicians with bassist John McVie (later of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac), Roger Dean on guitar (just a year before Eric Clapton arrived), Hughie Flint (soon to go on with Mayall as the first BLUESBREAKERS drummer) and Nigel Stanger on reeds, just before Dick Hekstall Smith joined up with Mayall's Bluesbreakers....
This was the first album incarnation by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and was recorded live at Klooks Kleek, which was at the Railway Hotel, next door to Decca's recording studios in West Hampstead, England. The club's compère Johnny Gunnell, together with his brother Rik Gunnell, persuaded Decca's engineers to run cables from an open studio window into the club, enabling studio quality sound in an environment in which the band excelled, and so their gig of Monday 7 December 1964 was preserved for posterity. At the time, the band (with a different guitarist and drummer) had released only one single, Crawling Up A Hill, which opened the live set, and they also previewed Crocodile Walk, their second single, which came out in April 1965, shortly after the album was released.
For the live recording the band was augmented by some appropriate novelty slide sax sounds on "The Hoot Owl" and "Chicago Line". Both of these and most of the rest of the record are John Mayall songs not recorded elsewhere, mostly in Chicago and UK blues-boom styles, and there is also a strange mash up of "Night Train" and "Lucille." Recorded in December 1964, Mayall Plays Mayall is one of the few and best examples of live English R & B from the mid-60's decade, with an outstanding sound quality and a powerful group, all commanded by the multifaceted Mayall, who shines on harmonica, organ, vocals and even guitar. Of all the formidable guitarists who passed through the various formations of the group, Roger Dean's name does not ring a lot, but this is a first class musician -- just listen to "I Need Your Love" or others with the excellent solos in almost all the songs to prove it. Another aspect to consider is that except for the moving medley "R & B Time" -- all songs are original Mayall, so one is free to listen to their covers of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Willie Dixon and other names so common in codes of all the r & b bands of the era.

CONDITION: The cover: laminated fragile UK only cover is highly collectible VG++ to "EX" (excellent) with only a little light scuffing to lamination, otherwise no obvious bends, no split seams and no writing...hard to find this 45 year old collectible this clean.
The vinyl: all glossy both sides (original luster still there) VG++ a few soft scuff lines, nothing to keep from playing clean EXcellent in all tracks...top UK BLUES BOOM beginnings....
