Items in this lot are:

Special note to foreign bidders: I declare foreign shipments as merchandise with the value you bid for them. Shipment to foreign buyers is via priority mail international with insurance for the value bid. Please e-mail for shipping costs before bidding as this method costs more, but is insurable and trackable. Example: United Kingdom 0-1 pounds $24.00 + $1.10 box/tape/pack = $26.50.
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

Feedback/bidding policy: I check feedback daily and will return feedback promptly. Although I go to great lengths to accurately describe my items, if you feel the merchandise is not as described, e-mail me BEFORE leaving feedback and we will resolve it. Please note I do allow returns (see return policy below). If you bid and do not pay, you may expect negative feedback and an unpaid item strike.

Description: Up for your consideration is a unique and rare 45 RPM from Elvis Presley.
Let me tell you right up front this item is probably best for DISPLAY ONLY. There is a crack extending from the outer edge to the trailing wax. Also, there is a chip on the outer edge that encroaches slightly into the playing grooves so that one cannot play the side from start to finish; part of the music gets missed at the beginning on each side. I was able to play both sides AFTER the chip and noted a consistent/regular pop due to the crack across the track. On the "Mystery Train" side, there was a moderate to heavy surface noise. The "I forgot" side played with a light to moderate surface noise. There is moderate to heavy general wear on both sides with moderate ring wear both sides. You can see all this from the enclosed scan.

The item is further described below, please read the detailed description before bidding. At the time of this listing, a few listings out on e-bay or in e-bay stores priced up to $2000! This item books at $2500 if in Near Mint condition, $1250 in VG+(excellent) condition, $625 in VG condition according to the price guide I use. Obviously, due to the crack and chip this is below VG condition. I'll leave it to you to assign a condition and value.

So this is your chance to own a unique item at a very reasonable price. The record has a dull finish with up to some heavy marks on it.
You can assign your own grade based on my comments below.

Be sure to check my other listings to save postage on multiple winning bids. Please explore the "Me" link above(next to feedback rating) to check out my store and some of the 15,000+ records / books / CD's / cassettes I have for sale as well as the LP to CD transfer service I offer.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s).

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Artist: Elvis Presley Title: Mystery Train / I forgot to remember to forget Record: Black vinyl with dull finish and up to some heavy marks. Labels: Yellow with dark print. No pen/pencil marks, no stickers, no spindle marks, some moderate/heavy general / ring wear. Trailing wax: Side 1: "45-U-156X" and "20". Side 2: "45-U-157X" and "20". Comments: This should probably be regarded as a DISPLAY ONLY copy, or a filler copy until you can get your hands on a better version. A unique addition to your 45 RPM ELVIS collection. It is rather scarce. Side 1: Comments: Mystery Train After the chip, a constant moderate to heavy surface noise with a consistent medium pop across the track due to the crack. Side 2: Comments: I forgot to remember to forget After the chip, a constant light to moderate surface noise with a consistent medium pop across the track due to the crack. Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:
  • NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
  • 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
  • 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
  • VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
  • VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
  • G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I would ship this in a 12"x10"x3" box wrapped in bubble wrap. Weight with box is about 9 ounces. Shipping costs: Media Rate $2.38 (0-1 lbs.) Box/tape $1.00, delivery confirmation $.80 = $4.20.

Buyer pays shipping/handling. Standard method within U.S. is Media Rate, $4.20. This includes delivery confirmation which enables you to track shipping of your package online. Outside U.S., e-mail location to determine S/H costs prior to auction end. Insurance / other methods of shipping cost extra. Payment received within ten days of auction ending. Payment via Paypal preferred.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the bidding!
