Description
Up for auction is the rare Miles Davis 10inch LP "Classics in Jazz," H-459 from 1954 on Capitol Records. On the album, Davis is featured with three separate groups of players, including Lee Konitz, Gerry Mulligan, Al Haig, John Barber, Junior Collins, Max Roach, Gunther Schuller, John Lewis, Joe Schulman, Al McKibben, JJ Johnson, Nelson Boyd, and Kenny Clarke. This is an ex-radio DJ copy of the album, and is a stated promotional/demo copy.
Sleeve: NM, with some minor age discoloration of the white, back cover, but overall no ringwear, no seam splits, no writing. Great shape.
Record: NM side 1, potentially unplayed, and EX- side 2, with some minor scuffing and one small scratch in the second track.
I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector and former radio DJ a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
