Description

Raoul Pugno (1852 - 1914 ), French pianist, organist and composer. A pupil of Mathias at the Paris Conservatory. Toured widely, especially in duo-recitals with the violinist Eugène Ysaye. Played throughout Europe and America. Pugno's discs were recorded on a faulty turntable that gives a "vibrato" effect to the piano tone. Anyway it's a highlight to listen this legendsary pianist at home !

10" French G&T ( Disque pour Gramophone ) G.C.35502, single-sided: Pugno, Impromptu - Valse. Matrix 2036-P 1. Back, Angel. Recorded in Paris, c.1904.

Condition: 3, two very light scratches, ligth greying, some stressed lines at beginn and more important: fine haircrack 3 cm, light audible. I had best result with a stylus .0040" CTD ( = 90 Micron ).

A major rarity  !!!
