Description
RANDY BURNS - EVENING OF THE MAGICIAN
A sparingly played and lovely condition copy of this 1968 UK 1st press acid/folk gem rarity
Year/Label : 1968 UK FONTANALabel number : STL.5520
Matrix numbers : 888804 1Y 1 420 / 888804 2Y 1 420
Stamper codes : 1 2 / 1 2
Nice thick, weighty and completely flat gleaming vinyl in excellent plus (EX+) condition, retaining a wonderful jet black sheen and only when viewed closely under a bright light do just a couple of extremely faint surface only paper scuff marks come into view - non-obvious, purely superficial, and not impinging upon the truly excellent audio quality at all. Clearly this record has been sparingly played. Excellent plus (EX+) condition labels - unmarked except for a few small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. The fully laminated outer sleeve is in excellent minus (EX-) condition - firm, unscuffed edges including a rigid spine where all text remains perfectly intact. Nice right angled corners with a little rubbing on the spine end corners, just the hint of some very mild discolouration towards the edges on the reverse side and some non-obvious laminate lifting - all very minor.Colours, art work, photos, and text all remain in great shape retaining impressive vibrancy and clarity. The quality of the audio is excellent plus (EX+) with just a couple of random very light background clicks on side 1 and barely any crackle or interference at all - so impressive for a record of this age (though these heavy duty 1960's Fontana LP records were made to last, and they do!). Wonderful tone and clarity throughout with every track making for a great listen. Comes complete with original poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with no splits or tears, just a little age discolouration and light creasing but remaining fully functional.
A truly excellent copy of this long deleted folk/acid gem - achingly beautiful songs by a completely under the radar and underrated artist. POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for ;
for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £21 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 52 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
