This is a genuine music industry silver award issued by Warner in the mid 1970s for UK sales of the album “Streets”.  This framed & glazed award is in a brushed silver wood frame measuring 38x43cms.  Within the frame is one of the original metal mother discs used to press the LP (matrix # K.56105.A2).  When I obtained the award the glass was missing and the original frame was in very poor condition.  So 15 years ago I had the award professionally re-framed in a near identical frame.  All the contents of the frame are original including the printed card plaque and the purple fabric matte.  

Overall the award is in good condition especially considering everything but the frame is nearly 50 years old.  There’s a rectangular mark on the record at the 11 o’clock position, along with a few other smaller marks/scratches/dings, a few spots on the underside of the glass, and the card plaque is showing some wear/damage from when the original glass was missing.  In addition, the record has moved slightly since it was re-framed, and so is now slightly off-centre.  However, none of these issues are major and the award still looks presentable when it’s hanging on the wall.

I’ve never seen another genuine Ralph McTell award in all my years of collecting awards.  So this is about as rare a piece of Ralph McTell memorabilia as you’re likely to find.
