Rainy Day Self-titled LP
( Llama / Enigma , E1024 , 1983 )

Sleeve: NM (Still sealed with some minor corner bumps)
Disc: M

Rainy Day was a short-lived project produced by Damaged Guitar God David Roback, formerly of the Rain Parade, as his first foray into recording and production. For the affair Roback roped in Rain Parade bandmates Will Glenn, Matt Piucci, and brother Steven Roback, along with other friends and members of bands of the then flourishing Paisley Underground scene in Southern California. The project also featured Bangles members Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson, Karl Precoda and Dennis Duck from the Dream Syndicate, future Opal cohort Kendra Smith, and Michael Quercio ( Three O'Clock ). [David Roback later formed Clay Allison / Opal with Kendra Smith, which permutated into Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval on vocals.] The album is a set of covers, featuring songs by the Beach Boys, Big Star, Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, the Velvet Underground, the Who and Neil Young--and is a very hard-to-find item in its original American pressing, especially an unplayed, sealed copy.

Vinyl graded visually (unless otherwise noted), sleeve first and disc second. Digging a few duplicate items out of the archives this week and other curiousities, and taking a break from the private obscurities exhumed from the trenches—now is your time to score. Please keep an eye on my auctions, as I'll be continually posting rare, private press LPs, 45s, fanzines and various music memorabilia. Take the opportunity to bid on this item now!

Happy bidding!
