"DRIVE MY CAR" b/w "GO GIRL"
on PARLOPHONE RECORDS rare issue # R 5701 from vintage 1968
One of the most rare and sought after records on Parlophone is their ‘Sallies Fforth’ LP, but I also have to wonder about this 45's availability, since I haven’t seen one of these in years - probably spotting more copies of Aquarian Age’s uber-rare psych single, actually.
Anyway - it is their best song, and I believe this is a different version from that on the album - souped up a little for the single market.
What’s even better though, is the fact that the flip ‘Go Girl’ is both good, and - unreleased elsewhere. It’s not on the LP, and with a lovely combination of skiffle style with a tabla-type drum, it’s a worthy psych track too.
CONDITION of the vinyl here is EX, sounding great. A tiny mark of silver paint from the lable has managed to get on each side, showing a little fingerprint. This does not sound (and may even wear off eventually, when played).
Lables are very clean, VG++, with a little sticker removal damage, and a blob of silver paint (probably a DJ marking, to denote their ownership?).
A top rarity of British psych!
