Description

This is a 45 rpm record featuring Phyllis (Charity) Brown performing “Out of My Mind” on the A side and “You’re The One” on the B side. This was issued in 1971 on the Canadian London label as catalog number M 17410. In 1976, “Out of My Mind” was discovered in England and became a “Northern Soul” hit. This copy visually grades a VG as there is visible wear - I check all of my vinyl with a flashlight, so any defects are noted. However, I’ve played both sides and heard very little noise, one or two tics on the A side, a few more tics on the B side at the beginning, so I would have to give this a mixed grade of VG/VG+. Description

This is a 45 rpm record featuring Phyllis (Charity) Brown performing “Out of My Mind” on the A side and “You’re The One” on the B side.  This was issued in 1971 on the Canadian London label as catalog number M 17410.  It was recorded at Sound Canada with Greg Hambleton producing.  In 1976, “Out of My Mind” was discovered in England and became a “Northern Soul” hit, so popular that all the clubs played it and dealers imported thousands of copies from Canada.  The song was featured in the UK Granada documentary “Northern Soul This England”.  This copy visually grades a VG as there is visible wear - I check all of my vinyl with a flashlight, so any defects are noted.  However, I’ve played both sides and heard very little noise, one or two tics on the A side, a few more tics on the B side at the beginning, so I would have to give this a mixed grade of VG/VG+.  There is a black felt check mark or “ORR” written on the A side label.  I know that most dealers don’t have time to play grade, but visual examination only goes so far - after all, a record is meant to be played, not looked at. The record was cleaned with the Disc Doctor’s Quick Wash.  This is a hard to find Canadian Northern soul record, both sides are really great……..please check my other auctions for more rare Northern soul/cosmic/funk/disco 45s…..
